Botanische Tuin Zuidas - Amsterdam

When we head off somewhere new we try quite hard to put together an itinerary that fills our trip with things we like; normally including greenhouses, coffee shops and a good vista or two. Prior to our recent visit to Amsterdam we planned our movements for the duration and made sure we had plenty of spare time to negotiate any surprises.

Botanische Tuin Zuidas was exactly the spontaneity we had hoped for. A tiny cactus-filled Instagram picture from someone had found it's way onto the #'s that I was searching (we still love Instagram as a tool to find interesting places to visit) and we thought we'd take the train journey for ourselves to the south of the city and *hopefully* dive into the real-life version of the picture that we had found.
