Gränsöleden — Västervik, Sweden
*We were kindly hosted by Visit Sweden during our entire stay in the country but all words, pictures and opinions are our own.*
One of the last things on our Swedish itinerary was a walk around Gränsö which is one of the islands in the Västervik archipelago and a typical example of the landscape to be found in that area; pine and oak forests, lichen-carpeted ground and spectacular views over the Baltic Sea towards Gotland.
We ended our walk with lunch at Guldkant in Västervik centre. The menu here was simple but satisfying with a range of things to choose from and everything was included, from coffee on the side to strawberry and banana cake to finish. A perfect way to end our Västervik experience and put us into good stead for our train journey to Stockholm.
