Our Sweden Itinerary
*We were kindly hosted by Visit Sweden during our entire stay in the country but all words, pictures and opinions are our own.*
We travelled to Sweden as part of a press trip with Visit Sweden and Visit Smãland so that they could show us some of what the country has to offer. It was our first adventure into Sweden and our first taste of the Scandinavian countryside - last year we went to Copenhagen but most of our activities there were city based and you’ll see by our blog series that our experiences in Sweden were quite different.
We flew to Copenhagen and travelled by train (really easy!) to Växjo where we began our Smãland adventure across the country to Västervik before ending our trip with one night in Stockholm. We were shown lots of places and although our days seem packed we found it a great pace and it has made us realise just how accessible the country is.
Here’s our 4 day itinerary:
— incredible meal and stay at PM & Vänner Hotel & Restaurant in Växjo
— a visit to Kerstin & Malte’s Swedish Garden in Tolg
— fika at Asa Herrgãrd
— sauna/lake combo and stay at Wallby Säteri in Vetlanda
— boat tour of the Västervik archipelago to see Hasselö & Sladö islands
— another incredible meal and stay at Slottsholmen in Västervik
— woodland walk around Gränsö in Västervik
— train to Stockholm
— an off-the-scale (in a good way!) meal at Rutabaga in Stockholm
