Salt Water Amsterdam - Shop and Cafe Tour
The reason for our most recent trip to Amsterdam was to shoot for a long-standing client of ours called Trouva and we thought we’d share some of the work that we produced that also happens to celebrate one of our favourite finds in the city: Salt Water.
As we mentioned, Trouva is one of our clients but this post is not an ad/sponsored post, just so you know.
Salt Water is a shop and cafe that had the most calming effect on us. We had photographed 8 different shops over our 2 day visit, this was the last on our list and it was the best way to end our time in the city.
Aside from selling a selection of beautiful wares (clothing, ceramics, fragrance and more) the owner Wanting also serves a simple menu of Japanese tea and wagashi. HEAVEN.

For those that haven’t heard of Trouva; they provide an online platform for independent shops so that people can buy from boutiques all over the place if they can’t make it there in person. Our work with Trouva as photographers has introduced us to countless unique shops, interesting individuals and some great brands that we might not have found otherwise. For the past few years we’ve done our Christmas shopping on Trouva and this year every single present we’re giving is made/produced by an independent brand as well as from a shop that is one of a kind - we like to think that’s there’s a long line of people that benefit from shopping this way.
You can visit Salt Water in Amsterdam or online via the Trouva website.
