The Scenic Drive to Elgol — the Isle of Skye
A little something to ignite the wanderlust in us all today; whilst we are both stacking up the number of tabs open in our browsers to form some sort of cohesive 'Japan Plan' we thought we'd share a journey in Scotland at the end of last year. It's the most incredible drive from our bolthole in Sleat to the small (and we mean really small) village of Elgol on the Isle of Skye.
The textures and colours couldn't be more 'Autumn' if they tried and we believe that Scotland should always be enjoyed at that time of year; it's the underdog to Summer and the changeable weather makes for impressive views that constantly surprise and made us feel as though it happened only for us to see it. This time we stopped for a breath of fresh air on Elgol beach and made our way back across the island to Coral Beach. We did consider hopping on the boat across the water to see Loch Coruisk but seen as we found it so perfect the year before, we decided not to taint that memory. Maybe next time...
As we mentioned at the start of this post (and about a million times on Instagram) we are seriously thinking about making a trip to Japan. The research for a trip like this is a little overwhelming as there isn't much that we've read about that we don't like the idea of and by now you know that we like to make the most of our journeys... So if you have any tips or recommendations for where to go/stay or see then please get in touch as we'll need all the help we can get.
