Stuff we Love
We tend to read-up a little on places that we'd like to visit. At the moment everything to us is pointing east. The Monocle guides are great to get a sense of a place in terms of architecture, attractions and also have useful information about the cultures of a certain place.
When we find something we like we tend to really go for it; we both have a thing for basic t-shirts from Arket and have a collection of different colours (all variations of grey!)
The Haarkon House wouldn't be the same without them and we have so many. We tend to lean towards more 'earthy' scents and Le Labo is really good at making long-lasting (and beautiful) products.
So many of our friends have incredible skillsets and we like to support them as best we can - it helps of course when they design or make really beautiful things. This coin pouch has developed a patina over the years; it's designed and made in England by our friends and we proudly use it every day.
Where to start with ceramics?! The Haarkon House is home to a healthy (and ever-growing) ceramic collection in the form of crockery, plant pots, decorative vessels and many, many mugs. Hasami Porcelain is from Nagasaki in Japan and combines our love for natural textures and innovative design.
As we've been on quite a number of aeroplanes in the past few years we've come to learn what makes our journeys easier and great luggage certainly helps. Horizn's suitcases are well-built, great to look at and fantastic value for money.
Our Netflix recommendations at the moment look a little like this; Mindhunter, Dark, The Big Short, The Office, Manhunt: Unabomber, Black Mirror, Pulp Fiction, Narcos, Better Call Saul, Fargo (the film and the series), James Acaster Repertoire, The Sinner.
