We only collect information that is needed to provide and improve Haarkon.

  • your encrypted password (managed securely by Supabase)
  • your display name (if you choose to add one)
  • your username (if you choose to create one)
  • the places you save to your account

When you browse the website, we may also collect limited technical information such as:

  • browser type
  • operating system

  • pages visited
  • general usage information collected through Google Analytics

We do not collect profile photographs or user-uploaded content.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • create and manage your account
  • authenticate you when you sign in
  • remember the places you have saved
  • keep the website secure
  • understand how Haarkon is used so we can improve it
  • send essential account emails, such as password resets or email verification

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

Passwords are not stored in plain text and are managed securely through Supabase Authentication.

Although we take security seriously, no method of storing or transmitting information over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

How long we keep your information

We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide your account, operate Haarkon, and comply with our legal obligations.

You can permanently delete your account at any time from your account settings. When you do, we permanently delete your account, profile, saved places and other personal data associated with your account. We may retain anonymous, aggregated statistics that can no longer be linked to you.

Where we are required by law to retain certain information, we will keep only what is necessary for the required period.

Your rights

Depending on your circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • access your personal information
  • correct inaccurate information
  • request deletion of your information
  • object to certain types of processing
  • request a copy of your information
  • withdraw consent where processing relies on consent
